Basically an early November walk.

Basically an early November walk.
Drove to Dufton in Cumbria and walked 3 1/2 miles up to High Cup Nick.
It had snowed overnight so I decided to check out some interesting footpaths. Took the OS Explorer map 307 and camera with me and hoped it would not be too muddy.
13-14 mile walk to Durham and back, footpaths and the railway path were quite busy but the town very quiet. Despite running and jogging regularly I notice that I have no walking endurance whatsoever – muscles are aching. My walking boots are also too large so I need to buy a new pair. There was a small forest fire along the route, some people were calling the fire service so I didn’t hang around.
Looks like summer already, just a circular run with the camera.
Christmas Eve bus ride to town, few ales and a walk back.
A short break in Scotland and a walk to the top of Scotland’s southermost Graham, elevation 2,333 ft. I stayed in a nearby Wigtown, Scotland’s book capital, no parking restrictions, and what a lovely B&B.
Started early after the breakfast, too early, when I was coming down the mountain when skies cleared. Reminded me of the 1995 film An Englishman who went up the hill and came down the mountain.Very balmy weather, Gulf stream, Irish sea and all that.
Boring Monday so I checked out Crook. Oh dear, what a dump…there’s a library and Lidl, that’s about it.
Just some photos here because I don’t seem to be able to create an album in Google.
